Have you seen Tom Stoppard's "Rosencrantz and   
                                   Guildenstern are Dead"?  If you have   
perhaps that is where you get the association.  Dreyfus plays the leader   
of the traveling actors in this retelling of Hamlet from the minor   
characters' viewpoint.
