From: Damien Broderick <damien@ariel.ucs.unimelb.EDU.AU> Subject: (urth) A Blount remark Date: Wed, 03 Jun 1998 10:26:32 +0000 I raised the matter of Blount and Australia with my learned friend John Bangsund <bangsund@pipeline.com.au> who scoured his CD-ROMss, his reference library and his commodious mind for possible clews. He found this: >Edward Blount was a relatively unimportant person (as far as >Australia was concerned) in the Colonial Office in the >1830s. He was in favor of [*gasp*] Catholic Emancipation. A bias, no doubt, sure to gain favor among people named Gene Wolfe, but otherwise perhaps not all that salient to *Fifth Head*.
