I gather that Tony Ellis has no interest in including the notion that
Sainte Anne/Sainte Croix (or one or the other) constitute Eden, or the
origin point for human beings, such that the waves of "discoverers" from
Earth are in reality returning to a dimly remembered ancestral home.
(Which is fine! Nobody says you must--I certainly don't say you must.)
