This sounds like a valuable interview. It pushes back the 'unreliable
narrator' question one level: are we to take the term "shadowchild"
literally, or to view it as a slip where "abo" was intended?
(pedantic aside: style guides vary, and at least one leaves
capitalization in the case of independent clauses following colons
optional.)
