Date: Tue, 16 Jul 2002 08:39:06 -0700 From: Michael Andre-DriussiSubject: (urth) Silk-23 and the Silkicide mystery Just in case it is slipping past unnoticed, and at the grave risk of belaboring the obvious: the beauty of putting Silk-23 in to the Horn-in-Silk-body is that the past 20 years are as unknown to Horn as they are to Silk-23, including the mysterious suicidal events immediately prior to the first switcharoo. Horn isn't being evasive, he really doesn't know -- this we grant easily. But the same would hold true for Silk-23 -- he wasn't there, either. So no matter which personality is in control of the Narrator, the result would be the same. It would also mean that the Narrator would be walking away from rulership roles on Blue, not because of the crippling first-hand experiences of Silk-43, but because Silk-23 has seen second-hand that such a path will destroy him (i.e., as Silk-43 was destroyed, spiritually if not suicidally). =mantis= --
