I don't see anything that Pas has in common with the Demiurge that he doesn't have in common with pagan "high gods" such as Zeus, who are the obvious models. Unlike the Demiurge, Pas didn't really create anything. And Typhon himself only "created" the Whorl in the sense that Rockefeller created Standard Oil; it may have been an act of sinful pride, but it had no cosmic significance that I'm aware of. Still less do I see how the Long Sun books are a criticism of Gnosticism (unless, as mantis said, one assumes that Gnostics worshipped the Demiurge, which afaik they never did). But, as I say, perhaps I'm just missing something. --Adam --
