The whole point of Catholic Fabulation is this.

"One thinks in one mood, for example, of fairies, elves and goblins - and in
quite another of Mr Wells' Selenites or his  Martians.  But whenever one is
forced to recognise a creature in either class as *real*, the distinction
becomes blurred.   And in the case of the eldils, it vanishes altogether .
