A typically witty appropriation by Wolfe: in the online Occultopedia, it's stated that Trivigante is the original Italian form of Termagant; in the Renaissance Morality Plays, Trivigante was an overbearing, tyrannical character in flowing Eastern robes, which apparel led to the assumption Trivigante was female.
