From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Nicholas=20Gevers?= <vermoulian@yahoo.com> Subject: (whorl) Rings and other red herrings Date: Sat, 21 Apr 2001 09:03:13 +0100 (BST) Two points have arisen: 1) The esteemed Kevin Maroney points out that Krait imparted what he assumed to be the full Secret to Horn long before the first episodes of astral travel; how then can astral travel be part of the Secret? Well, the Secret has two parts: a passive part revealed by Krait (the reproductive behaviour of the inhumi and their general dependence on human blood for intelligence) and an active or inferrable part (that humans can come to Green and do a Herod on embryonic inhumi). Krait's revelation to Horn is dangerous at the time of its utterance because the knowledge can be used by humans in other ways--people already on Green (like Sinew) can attack the breeding pools directly and people from Blue (like Hari Mau) could come to Green on landers for the same purpose. Astral travel simply makes the process particularly straightforward... 2) The Ring playing a role in astral travel: Horn had no ring at the time of his first astral jaunt (to Nessus, late in IGJ.) --Nick Gevers. ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
